Setting Up An IDX Search On Your Webpage

IDX (Internet Data Exchange) – IDX links are now available free of charge from Rapattoni for members whose broker has opted in on IDX/Reciprocal/Cooperative Advertising. These links are available for you to e-mail to your Web developer to add to your personal Web page.

If you wish to include a link on your Web page that will give the public the ability to search for listings, please follow these instructions:

1.       Check to make sure your broker has opted in to IDX.

A.      If your office has opted in, skip to #2.

B.      If no, please visit http://www.bareis.com/private/member-forms/brkr-idx-recip-agreement.html, have your broker fill out the form and please fax it to BAREIS MLS at 707-577-0140. Now proceed to #2.
 

2.       Check to see if you have access to the IDX link

A.      Log in to the MLS, go to ADMIN and see if you see “IDX Search Setup,” if you do, skip to #3

B.      If you don’t, please have your Broker or Office Admin give you access to the link. Your Broker or Office Admin will have to log in to the MLS, go to Admin, Office Menu, and click on “Manage IDX Member Access.” Check off the Agent’s name that will be getting the IDX access and click Submit.  The agent then logs into the MLS and clicks on ADMIN, and proceeds to # 3.
 

3.       Click on “ IDX Search Setup”

A.      This is where you setup what you want your clients to search by. Make sure to Add Property Types, Counties, Area to your search. 

B.      You can change the color of the page by selecting the color options at the bottom of the page. This allows you to coordinate the search page with your Website’s color scheme.

C.      Click on Submit, continue to # 4
 

4.       Finding your IDX link.

A.      Now click on ADMIN and Public Access Links, the bottom link should be “Hyperlink for IDX Framed solution.” This is the link that you will use to display on your Website. If you have a vendor hosting your Website, you will need to copy the link and e-mail the link to your vendor.
